Generosity... a divine trait

While much can be said about giving, it may be more powerful to recognize the generosity of God. From the beginning He has provided for His creation & shared dominion in this world with his children - Genesis 1:26-28. He created a universe for us and gave us free reign over this beautiful creation. His only request was a relationship walking with us. While we humans have rebelled and spoiled his creation, He continues to care for us. "For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:45.  God also generously provided His only Son to reach out to humanity that had wandered off and became lost in this world. As a shining example of generosity, He lived a simple life of itinerant poverty calling humans to return to God's Kingdom. His Son did not use His miraculous gifts on Himself but only to serve others. Most generous of all... in the end He died in our place - we are guilty and He took the punishment. "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. God's generosity provides for us, supports us, redeems us, envelopes us, yet we rarely notice.
