Welcome Back!

It was joyfully announced recently that our dear brother, Brett Morrison, will be returning to Emporia Avenue to work as our Youth and Family  Coordinator at the beginning of October.  Praise God!  We couldn’t be more excited about having him and his wife, Jereth, and children, Braden, Garren, and Hadley, back with us at Emporia Avenue.   Unless you are new to the congregation, Brett and family really need no introduction at all.  In fact, they began attending here in 2006, and Brett was installed as a deacon in 2007.  Brett’s love for Jesus and his willingness to serve is known by all who know him.  What a blessing it is to have him working again with the youth. He is the perfect man for the job.  His relationship with our young people was forged in the years he spent in teaching and preaching, and while with us, his deacon responsibilities included working with the youth.

In the Spring of 2020, Brett dedicated himself to preaching and teaching the word of God at Andover church of Christ where his parents attended for many years and where he spent many of his younger years.  We know from how much we’ve missed having them with us and that the congregation there has been greatly blessed by having such a sweet family working with them.  It has always been our hope and prayer that they would come back to serve Christ with us in this place.  Our church directory and member photo board are evidence of this because the Morrison’s were never removed or taken down from them.

A few things have changed within their lives though.  Brett is now teaching music for the Derby School District.  Jereth is managing an Ulta store, Braden is now a sophomore at WSU, Garren is a Senior (can you believe that?) at Goddard High, and Hadley is now a 7th grader at Eisenhower Middle School in Goddard.   Where does the time go, right?  They grow up so fast.

We look forward to growing together with Brett and family in every way into Him who is the head to the measure and stature of the fullness of Christ.  (Eph 4:13-15)
